IK Multimedia AmpliTube Custom Shop offers new Seymour Duncan and Orange models

IK Multimedia has announced the addition to the AmpliTube Custom Shop of five new gear models designed and developed in close cooperation with Seymour Duncan® and Orange®.

IK Multimedia AmpliTube Custom Shop

The AmpliTube Custom Shop, launched in April, has become a powerful tool for guitarists, bassists, keyboardists and producers to create their own truly custom tone from the comfort of their own studio. Now the Custom Shop has been expanded with these new gear models available today to try and buy immediately.

Two new stomp box models from Seymour Duncan are now available: the Power Grid distortion and the Shape Shifter tremolo pedal. The Power Grid has five stages and three-band active EQ which makes it one of the most versatile distortion pedals available. The Shape Shifter reproduces the hypnotic tremolo sounds characteristic of 50s tube amps with detailed “Wave” and “Shape” controls allowing you to create many different effects! These two stomp boxes mark the entry of Seymour Duncan into the AmpliTube Custom Shop, and more Seymour Duncan gear models are already in development.

Three new officially certified models of Orange gear have been added as well. The Thunderverb 200 is a powerful and flexible amp capable of all kinds of tones from vintage rock to modern blues, hard rock to metal. Nothing can match the bone crushing, bottom-end punch of this big stage tone head. The Custom Shop model brings this incredible amp within reach of all musicians and studios. Along with the Thunderverb 200, IK has also introduced two new Orange cabinets, the Tiny Terror Combo and the PPC212OB.

The new models are now available in the AmpliTube Custom Shop, priced between 5 and 20 “gear credits” each. Credits can be purchased from $1.00 / €0.75 to $0.60 / €0.45 per credit depending on Credit Pack purchased. JamPoints (IK’s reward system) can be applied (and earned) on every Gear Credit Pack purchase for a discount of up to 50% making gear prices even more affordable.

Audio Damage Panstation

Audio Damage has released version 1.0.1 of Panstation, a panning effect plug-in for Windows and mac.

Panstation is, without question, the most sophisticated autopanner plug-in available. We started with a loose model of the venerable Drawmer M500′s panning engine, then added the counting features from the Audio & Design PanScan (probably the most famous vintage autopanner, and the “secret weapon” of many well-known producers.) The result is an autopanner plug-in that is second to none in both feature set and sound.

Changes in Panstation v1.0.1

  • A problem that was preventing authorization on some 64-bit systems on both Windows and Mac has been fixed.
  • “Pan CC” mode now only responds to correct MIDI controller. Previously it had responded to any controller.

Panstation for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase for $39 USD.

Liquidclear VST Plug-ins

Liquidclear Tremoloid

Liquidclear has released a number of freeware VST instrument and effect plug-ins for Windows.

Since the original website is no longer available I will offer the plug-ins for download here, with kind permission of James of Symmetrical Castle / Liquidclear.

Note: All Liquidclear plugin(s) were created using SynthEdit and are for Windows only. You will need a VST host to use them.

Liquidclear plug-ins

  • Tremoloid – a simple but versatile plug for creating tremolo-type effects using pure AM. Sounds range from classic 60′s tremolo to extreme FSU/Glitch goodness. Excellent for EPs and strings/pads. Stereo in/out.
  • Rectiplyer – Extreme Octave Distortion for guitars. Rectiplyer simultaneously ‘transposes’ the optionally distorted input signal both up and down 1 and 2 octaves. The distorted/transposed signals can be blended together as well as individually panned. Huge nasty synth-like tones are had with ease.
  • Klapp One – Analog-style hand clap sound generator (no samples used).
  • Transilient – a versatile FSU/Glitch type multi-effect unit designed to make strange and unusual new sounds — yet still (hopefully) easy to use and control. The 5 different effects can be modulated by one of two 16-step sequencers, a LFO, any WAV file, and/or manually controlled. Additionally, the modulators can be synced to your host’s tempo. You can easiliy turn a single sustained note or chord into an electronic drum loop. Or take an existing drum loop and turn it into something glitch-like and noisy. Slower tempos work great for drone and ambient sounds. 16 presets are included to get you started.
  • Flux Interrupter – It’s a weird, glitchy, modulated delay with a built-in LP filter and a little something extra. James built it to obtain a certain sound for his own use, but maybe you’ll find some use for this plug as well. Flux Interrupter sounds great on slower drums loops and monosynth sounds. 16 presets are included to get you started.

Puremagnetik releases PM-70 Electric Piano Library

Puremagnetik PM-70

Puremagnetik has announced the release of PM-70, a new sound pack of 8 multi-sampled instruments emulating the Yamaha CP70 Electric Grand Piano.

At the core, the CP-70 is a piano with strings and hammers with a pickup system for electric amplification. Originally released in the 1970′s as a “portable grand piano” for use on rock tours, the sound was made famous by Genesis, Kansas, U2 and more recently Keane. The CP-70 can be compared to that of a Rhodes or Wurlitzer electric piano, but due to the use of strings instead of tines, it sounds much more like a traditional piano. The metallic strings amplified by electric pickups further characterize the CP70 as its own class of piano, giving it a guitar-like sound at times.

Puremagnetik worked with The Distillery in New York City to capture the pickup details using a prototype germanium-based DI from Sage Electronics. The twangy saloon like piano tone was recorded with a stereo pair of matched 414′s through a Focusrite ISA 828.

Additionally, Puremagnetik has programmed some patches to emulate the CP-70 tremolo circuit and tube amplifier. As evidenced in some of the more exploratory patches, PM-70 also explores the piano as a spectral source to create new fictional synthesizer tones.

PM-70 features features

  • High Quality 24 bit MultiChannel recordings.
  • Multiple Velocity Layers for Realistic Playability.
  • Emulation of the Original Tremolo Circuit.
  • Integrated Ableton Live Effects Racks with Advanced Macro Mapping.
  • Custom Kontakt KSP GUI for Easy Editing.
  • Requires Ableton Live 8.2.1, Kontakt 3.5 or Logic 8.

PM-70 is now available for Ableton Live 8, Kontakt 3/4 and Logic 8/9.

The Lower Rhythm releases Basilisk effect plugin

The Lower Rhythm has announced the release of Basilisk, a multiband univibe effect plugin for Windows.

The Lower Rhythm Basilisk

Basilisk is a full stereo, two channel multiband ‘vibe’ style effect geared towards electric piano, strings, pads and guitars. The wet channel passes your signal through a 9-Band Equalizer, each band being modulated at an independently set rate with an adjustable waveform (4 choices). In addition, each band has a knob for adjusting the bandwidth for its dedicated center frequency. Next, your signal is fed into a stereo chorus effect (5 selectable waveforms) capable of everything from smooth flange to a glitchy blitter — and for those more ‘crusty’ moods, a very fat lowpass filter is right there in order to trim off some of the highs.

All that’s left is to mix and match your wet and dry signals with two independent volume knobs in order to find that perfect blend.

Basilisk features

  • Fully stereo.
  • Four master waveform choices.
  • 9 bands of frequency divided ‘vibe’.
  • Bandwidth / Rate controls for each band.
  • Utilizes phasing for smoother effect.
  • Chorus effect with five selectable waveforms.
  • Fat, Moog style master lowpass filter.
  • Independent Wet / Dry signal volume controls.

Basilisk is available to purchase as a VST effect plug-in for Windows PC, priced at $19.99 USD.

Peavey releases ReValver MK III.V, guitar amplifier modeling software

Peavey has announced the availability of ReValver MK III.V, a guitar amplifier modeling software for Windows and Mac.

Peavey ReValver MK III.V

Developed by veteran tube-amp maker Peavey Electronics, ReValver captures the true characteristics of vacuum tubes while allowing users control over their tonality, configuration, tube types, and gain structures.

ReValver MK III.VReValver MK III.V features the debut of 21 new amp models, including the Peavey 3120, Peavey Masterpiece, Peavey Sensation, Budda Superdrive II, and Budda Superdrive V Series. New effects models in ReValver MK III.V are the classic Peavey VCL-2 tube compressor, the Budda Budwah expression pedal, and the Gate Keeper, a tube-based noise gate. All of the amp models, effects models and deep editing popularized by ReValver MK III are also available in MK III.V.

ReValver utilizes exclusive Peavey algorithms that analyze the interactions of the amps’ components at the circuit level, based on the original schematics. ReValver is able to model every nuance of tube amplifiers with “unprecedented accuracy”.

As advanced as ReValver’s modeling algorithms are, operating the models can be as simple or as in-depth as the user desires. The software GUI is intuitive and easy to use, with a drag-and-drop interface where users can add and subtract individual components and devices such as amplifiers, preamps, power amps, stomp boxes and effects.

Unlocking ReValver’s customization tools is also easy. By right-clicking on an amp model, users can “go inside” and adjust the amp’s tones and components on the Tweak Module GUI. This allows users to modify every imaginable tube parameter on all amplifier models. Users can also modify tube types, power amps, rectifiers, output transformers and tone stacks.

ReValver MK III.V features a robust stompbox and effects section, including various types of chorus, distortion, wah, tremolo, compression, limiters, delays, octaver and much more. Its convolution reverb allows for very complex and smooth reverbs, including sampled spring reverb, and allows users to import their own impulse responses. The VST Host module allows users to load their favorite third-party VSTs for use within the ReValver software.

ReValver MK III.V also features many “under-the-hood” updates. The tube model algorithms have been enhanced, resulting in a new level of realism. The convolution modules have also been updated to improve the handling of imported IRs and new “Brilliance” and “Bottom” parameters have been added to the modules, allowing for further fine-tuning of the impulses’ tonal characteristics. The VST Host module also features enhancements to ensure robustness and ease of use. MK III.V now boasts improved runtime performance on both the operating system and host level, with a focus on upgraded Pro Tools support.

ReValver MK III.V features

  • 21 amplifier models, including the Peavey 6505, 6505+, JSX, 3120, Classic, ValveKing, Masterpiece and Sensation.
  • 12 preamp models.
  • 9 power amp models.
  • 21 stompbox/pedal-type effects.
  • 12 rack-style effects.
  • VST Host module.
  • 32-bit and 64-bit operation modes.
  • More than 150 speaker simulations using real-time convolution and membrane modeling.
  • 8 utility functions, including tuners, signal splitters, analyzer and more.
  • Fully MIDI mappable.

ReValver MK III.V for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS) is available to purchase for a MSRP of $299.99 USD.
