SKYLIFE releases SampleRobot Single-X for OS X & updates SampleRobot products to v4.51

SKYLIFE has announced the release of SampleRobot Single-X for Mac OS X.

With SampleRobot Single-X musicians and sound designers can create professional sample sets and transfer their instruments easily to the digital domain. One can also turn virtual instruments into multi-samples for hardware sample players and workstations.

SampleRobot Single-X offers a lot of sophisticated sampling and auto-loop features from his award-winning brother SampleRobot Pro. Single-X stands for „Single Export Format“ and is appropriate if using mostly one sampler type and therefore only one export format is needed.

These different export format options are available: Wave, Kontakt and Reason, Alchemy, Soundfont 2, Blofeld, HALion, WusikStation, SFZ / Dimension

For precise audio loop editing and advanced auto processing SampleRobot Single-X can be combined with SKYLIFE WaveRobot as an upgrade.

SampleRobot Single-X
SampleRobot Single-X now includes installers for Apple OS X (Mountain Lion, Lion & Snow Leopard) as well as Microsoft Windows (8, 7, Vista & XP).

Changes in SampleRobot 4.51

  • New SKYLIFE server connection for registration and online content.
  • Mac: New installers for OS X fully compatible with OS 10.8, including a new framework with many optimizations and speed advantages, streamlined recording processes and path architecture, combined with enhanced support for various audio interfaces.
  • PC: Enhanced support for Windows 8 including a new virtual interface. SampleRobot can be connected to the SKYLIFE SampleRobot Instrument Host which will be released shortly. In conjunction with the SKYLIFE SampleRobot Virtual Cable this virtual interface has the ability to sample virtual instruments and all audio streams that play on the same computer like web radio, music streams and other media data (abiding by relevant copyright laws and license agreements).
SKYLIFE SampleRobot Virtual Cable + Instrument Host is a discrete product that can be used in conjunction with SampleRobot as well as independently with other applications. The download will be available soon on the SKYLIFE STORE.

SampleRobot Single-X for Windows and Mac is available to purchase for $59 USD / 49 EUR / £39 GBP. A bundle with WaveRobot costs $129 USD / 99 EUR / £85 GBP.

KX77FREE Kx-PolyMod

KX77FREE has released version 1.5 of the Kx-PolyMod virtual synthesizer instrument for Windows.

Vintage modular polyphonic synthesizer with stereo SF2 player. To build analog 70′s leads!

Changes in Kx-PolyMod v1.5

  • Improved reset of the voices (filters and oscillators).
  • Levels of the harmonics before the cut off no longer decrease when the resonance is high (lp or bp, 18,12, 6).
  • A soft Tanh process has been implemented in some d* filters, the signal is modified by the Tanh process following the input level (produces less distortion).
  • Four SV filters (lp, hp, bp, notch) added with the possibility to adjust the number of poles of the slope (2 to 4, 12dB to 24 dB).
  • Two CS70M filters added (lp, hp), a special version of the SV filter with the same limits found in the tests: the cut off limited to 7040hz (9 volts) and the resonance level limited to 0.88.
  • GUI tool added: you can change the joystick background color to identify your plug-in if you have a session with many plug-ins used.
  • The internal help text has been modified to correct some errors and to update the test values.
  • The cut off of the MgL2 filter was false, the values used were not those of the oversampled filters. Fixed.
  • In some cases, the F1-F2 mix multiplied the stereo Vcf output by 0, causing abnormal CPU use. Fixed.

Kx-PolyMod for Windows (VST) is a free download.

Precisionsound releases EP-30 sample library

Precisionsound EP-30

Precisionsound has announced the release of EP-30, a “Vintage keyboard collection” series sample library featuring the sounds of the Roland EP-30 electric piano.

Roland released the first velocity sensitive electric piano in 1974, the EP-30. It was built in a sturdy road case with 4 preset sounds and a bass sound that could be blended with the others in the lowest octave. It had a vibrato with speed control that affected the volume, and a tone control. You could create some variation to the sound by pressing more than one preset button at a time. Today it’s quite rare to find.

If we where to describe the sound, “Pac Man piano” could be appropriate. EP-30 does not sound like a real piano, it sounds very Lo-Fi and cheesy, in a cool, retro way.

EP-30 features

  • The EP-30 sampled in full, every key and preset. The natural range of the Roland EP-30 is F0 to F5, and F0 to B1 for the Bass. The sample library has an extended range from C0 to C6 except the Bass which has been extended down only, to C0.
  • 263 WAV files (24bit quality).
  • 5 programs for Steinberg HALion, Logic EXS24, NI Kontakt v1-2.
  • 12 programs for NI Kontakt v3-5 (full version required).
  • 5 programs in the SoundFont format (16bit), 100% compatible with all virtual samplers supporting the SoundFont format like Dimension Pro (Cakewalk), Free SFZ player, NN-XT (Reason) and more.

The sample library is available to purchase for $25 USD (download) / $36 USD (DVD). All formats are included.
